[Announcer: Number Six] Being a Cyclone but when you’re also an
athlete, you get to meet so many new people and you just become inter-
connected with a bunch of different people that you didn’t think you would. I
think the best part of playing volleyball for me would just be like
have like having a way to get away from everything else. Like it’s a way to get
everything off my mind, I’m with my friends who like end up being super close
with me. It can be difficult sometimes because
you have late practices or late games, but you still have to make sure you have time
to study and be prepared for school the next day too. Sometimes I do listen to
Disney music before like a game. I don’t know why, it just really pumps me up. Like
you ever heard Mulan like I’ll Make a Man Out of You, like I’m not gonna lie, I listened to that on
the way here, I was like let’s get down to business [laughter]. Any misconception that I’ve heard about
volleyball would probably be it’s really easy, like all you’re doing is passing and
hitting a ball over the net which isn’t really the case. It’s a lot more mental
than that too because if you’re not in the right mindset, then you’re not gonna
be able to play as well as you would be. I think when I leave Moraine Valley, I
want people to remember me by my attitude, thinking that I’m always
positive and trying to make the best out of the worst situations. So, I’m trying to bring
people’s moods up and trying to help them in any way that I can.
